About Us

Mission

The Center on Age & Community strives to combine the UWM's expertise with the experience of those who work in the field of aging to create innovative ways of improving our lives as we age.

The center's activities focus on four main goals:

  • To prepare the regional workforce for the changes of a diverse, aging society by offering culturally informed, cutting edge educational programs.
  • To conduct innovative, applied research in long term care that emerges out of university and community partnership.
  • To foster partnerships between families, students, practitioners, organizations, and researchers in the field of aging.
  • To increase the diversity among all CAC collaborators, including students, faculty, community partners, and leadership council members.
