Post-Doc Fellowship Awarded to Nursing Researcher
Michelle Simpson, PhD Nursing, will join CAC this fall as our 2007-2008 Post-Doctoral Fellow. Simpson will work closely with mentor Dr. Chris Kovach on her R01 funded study of the Serial Trial Intervention, a pain treatment protocol, for its effectiveness in improving long term comfort, stress level, agitation level and acute care services for people with advanced dementia living in nursing homes.
Dr. Simpson will receive her PhD from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee in August 2007 and aims to continue research on her dissertation topic, the relationship between work engagement and the cognitive and behavioral processes of turnover. She is CAC's third Post-Doc Fellow, joining Dr. Jung Kwak (2006-2008) and Dr. Bradley Fulton (2005-2007). CAC's Post-Doc Fellowship is generously supported by the Helen Bader Foundation.
