CAC and the Helen Bader School of Social Welfare have awarded 9 scholarships for 2007-2008 to support the study of aging.
"It's always nice to share good news on what's supposed to be an unlucky day," says CAC Director Anne Basting, who called scholarship recipients to let them know of their awards on Friday, April 13th.
Recipients reflect the broad reach of CAC's areas of focus. Elizabeth Grimm is an incoming student to the newly establish PhD in Health Sciences. Jessica Linberts, Miho Fuji, Gretchen Fairweather, and Stacey Ehlers are receiving their MSW's in the Helen Bader School of Social Welfare. Addie Johnson is pursuing a PhD in Architecture. Josh Lang is working toward a PhD in Urban Studies in the College of Letters & Science with an emphasis on aging. Steve Bernfeld is a returning student in the PhD program for Educational Psychology who aims to counsel older adults in late life career transitions. And James Brown aims to use his PhD in Education to create and evaluate training programs for older adults to become technologically savvy.
Watch for our scholarship application deadline each spring.
